30 Day Challenge - Day 1

In an effort to try and kick myself up the ass and post more, I'm stealing the 30 Day Challenge meme that vanillamagick has started posting. Wish me luck?

Day 1 asks Write some basic things about yourself

The basics are that I’m a 40 year old bisexual, polyamorous woman who works as a graphic designer in the travel industry. I live in London with my wife, children and cats. I love God, caffeine, chinese food, classic rock, and classic films.

I’ve was born in East London and have lived here all my life, despite having a name that means ‘Ireland’. I have a twin brother called Brody – and it’s very important to note that I am five minutes older than he is – and we’re very close. He’s quite literally my other half.

My parents, however, disowned me when I came out as bisexual in my early 20s. I haven’t spoken to them for over 15 years.

I graduated from University Of The Arts in London in 1997 with a BA (Hons) Fine Art & History of Art, and I completed my MA Digital Arts (Visual Arts) in 2014 through Camberwell College of Arts in London.
I work for The Flight Centre as a Graphic Designer although most of my job revolves around usability and layout of company literature – both internal and external

As well as a passion for art, I’m fascinated by Psychology and Philosophy and am seriously thinking about completing some kind of course around them.

I met my wife Jade Rachel in 2010 and we have been married since 30 March 2015. We have two children, Regan who is 17, and Caden Bryce who is 5.

That’s the serious stuff out of the way:
I believe in God.
I drink too much coffee (and vodka) and eat too much take out (and chocolate).

I love Disney movies
My favourite band is The Beatles, my favourite movie is Casablanca, my favourite colour is red, my favourite author is JRR Tolkien and my favourite painter is Leonardo Da Vinci

Five Things In My Handbag

An interesting meme I've seen on blogs over the last couple of days - vanillamagick included, so I'm joining in ad posting about the 5 Things in My Purse at All Times

Wet wipes/hand sanitiser One of the perils of travelling by public transport, you never know when you're going to touch something unpleasant.

Pocket rocket vibrator Oh, don't look at me like that. Sometimes a woman gets frustrated during the course of her day and needs to get herself off in the bathroom!

Spare pair of glasses I'm as blind as a bat without my glasses, and I don't get on with wearing contact lenses all day. Spare glasses are essential as a 'just in case'

Hair accessories Ive always got a couple of hair grips and a band or two with me. London can get very humid at times and avoiding bad hair day frizz is always handy

Tablet computer For working on the go

That's not to say those are the only things in my purse, but those are definitely among my essentials.

Sunday Stealing: The Mixed Bag Meme

1. How many songs are in your library? I'm not sure, probably around 15000 or so. Itunes doesn't appear to show me any more!
2. Do you like Christmas music? As with all genres, there's some I like and some I like. I'm partial to the classics - both Carols and songs. The contemporary stuff, not so much. Give me Wizzard etc!
3. What magazines do you have subscriptions to? None. I always intend on subscribing but never manage to get around to it. New Scientist and Classic Rock would be the ones I buy the most - well that and any that have interesting covers when I'm in a newsagent.
4. What is your favorite scent? I don't know I have a specific favourite, but I'm partial to citrus notes - vibrant and fresh
5. Do you give money to charity? Yes
6. What is your theme song? I don't know that I have one
7. What's in your wallet? about £50, credit card, store cards, lots of receipts, pictures of my step children - the usual
8. Do you generally think before you act, or act before you think? Think before I act - I never do anything without talking myself out of it about three times first!
9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days? No
10. Do you have a good body-image? Yes, I like how I am
11. How are you spending your holidays? with my girlfriend and step-children - perfectly
12. What have you been seriously addicted to lately? Township - a facebook game
13. Tell us a secret? I could - but then I'd have to kill you ;)
14. What’s the last song that got stuck in your head? Gangnam Style
15. What’s your favorite item of clothing? Right now it's a big pair of fluffy Christmas slipper socks.
16. Do you think Rice Krispies are yummy? Of course
17. Is Santa real? Of course he is!
18. What should you be doing right now? It's Sunday evening, there's nothing I should be doing, other than kicking my feet up, just like I am
