NAME: Kimi
AGE: 28 (29 on October 3rd though)
INTERESTS & HOBBIES: Tom Hiddleston, Pokemon, All Time Low, 5 Seconds of Summer, Simple Plan, visual kei/J-rock, oldies music, writing, fangirling.
LOOKING FOR: Nothing special. I don't really mind because I'm accepting of everyone. :3
ANYTHING ELSE?: I lost the account info for my old DW. I think it was AdorbzFangirl or something. But yeah. I figured it was better just to start over. Keep in mind too, that I won't be very active. I'm pretty much limited to my dad's computer (on occasion) to my iPad Pro. My laptop stopped functioning properly, and if Apple can't fix it... it may be a while before I can get another one. :|

Oh! I forgot to mention that I'm autistic. There's a good chance I won't reply to other people's journals. It puts a lot of pressure on me and my social skills. I'll do my best to post on yours, but I expect the same in return. :3
So yeah.

ANYTHING ELSE?: I'm working on recognizing my ingrained NWL flaws in the current moment. I'm cishet chicky, and I enjoy hearing most points of view.

In my preferred measuring of time, today marks the the three-quarter mark of the year and it has recently been eventful, rather than the reflective opportunity I take on such quarter calendar markers. The day started with a visit from [livejournal.com profile] hathhalla and [livejournal.com profile] ser_pounce for our irregular cheesequest session, which was followed with me running the third session of our Charlemagne D&D game, involving adapting The Veiled Soceity with the the historical revolt against his rule in in Friuli. Alas, the day ended with a very sad note with a message that [personal profile] caseopaya's mother has taken a turn for the worse and is now in a critical condition in hospital; a plane has been immediately booked to Perth and it is almost certain I will be embarking on the journey shortly afterwards. However, before I depart I have to attend VCAT on Tuesday to have power of financial attorney transferred to me for Rick B. and, with the universe displaying no sense of irony, the meeting of the Victorian Secular Lobby with Lesley Vick on the Dying with Dignity legislation.

On the scale of things there there is little else to report. I have been busy catching up on my PRACE supercomputing course when the opportunity presents itself, and even more so working on Papers & Paychecks at every available opportunity, especially working my way through the "sapient monsters" - cars, computers, photocopiers, fatbergs - that come to "life". There was a good game of Megatraveller on Wednesday evening with our regular group, and I have taken it upon myself to update and extend on existing javascript files for character generation to ship and world design. Finally, workwise things have been at their usual level of mad activity, with staff illnesses pushing our already tight deadlines for the GPGPU project into stormy territory. A lunch sponsored by SanDisk's Gary M., on Friday was thoroughly appreciated with a particularly high quality conversation. After that smashed my way through the somewhat tricky dependency chain for the SUMO traffic simulator. But, as mentioned, all seems to fall into insignificance at this point, even in my rational brain tells me that it is not.

Today did not start off well. I didn't sleep particularly well last night; tossed and turned, couldn't get comfy, too hot, too cold... I felt very sluggish and not-rested this morning. It made me late for work, only by like 2-3 minutes but just enough that I felt like I was playing catch-up all day.

I had a fairly productive evening. I got another load of laundry done and did a sinkful of dishes. I went to the gym and did another 2 miles on the treadmill, although I upped my walking pace some and it really made a difference in how much of a workout I felt I got. I read somewhere that to get a really good cardio workout you should aim to walk a mile in 15 minutes, so I set the treadmill to 4mph. I was definitely struggling the last 1/3 of a mile - my legs were aching, I was sweating and panting but I did it. And I felt really fucking awesome.

I did my ESTA Visa Waiver application for my Christmas trip to the states and got instant approval. Yay, the US is planning on letting me in. Wonder if I'll once again get selected for all the extra screening - I've never not been one of the 'random' selections. I think it's the disabled female travelling alone thing. Ugh!

I have thinky thoughts for another day about my use of crutches/wheelchair on bad days vs my using the gym right now on good days. I know there's a difference between working on my fitness and my continued ability to function, between good day and bad days but there's weird fraud-y feelings bubbling around that I can't quite put words to just yet.

This evening I've watched Somewhere Between 1x03 and 1x04, tried and discarded the pilot of Doctor Doctor and watched 12x13 of Supernatural.
